1991 Boys Cross Country

The Mentor Boys returned to the top of the GCC, going undefeated in dual meets and placing first in the GCC meet.  Jon Eggleton, Matt DeMaison, Dan Lamorena and Bill Dennison were usually up front for the Cards.  A second place district finish propelled Mentor into the regional meet for at least the 13th straight year.  After a 6th place finish, no individuals qualified to the state meet.

Other running news- Eric Ashton, now a graduate student at the University of South Carolina, was ranked as the #2 road runner in South Carolina.  Ashton clocked a 24:08 in a five mile race and is around 30:00 for 10K.  Henry Covetta continued as one of the top racers in Northeast Ohio, winning several races in the Cleveland area.
