1988 Boys Cross Country

Mentors Boys capped the season with their 39th straight GCC dual meet win and 10th consecutive league title.  In the GCC Meet Nilesh Shah won with Brian Danison a close second.  After winning their fourth straight district meet, the Cards added a regional championship and finished 8th at the state meet.  Danison was the one who paced the team at the state meet.  For the seventh straight year, Mentor was selected as the top boys team in the area.  Danison, Shah & Scott Nedly were on the News Herald First Team.

College Note: An injury to Eric Ashton kept him from being a third time All American at Malone College, but he still ran and helped Malone finish 5th in the NAIA Nationals.  Jerry Fresenko was named All American for Malone.
