1986 Boys Cross Country

Mike Damon became the fourth straight Mentor runner to win the individual district championship.  All four titles went to former Memorial runners.  Mentor won still another GCC Championship and won its 5th district crown in seven years.  In the GCC race, Mentor scored a perfect 15 to shut out the league.

The Mentor boys finished second in the regional meet and seventh in the state meet.  Mike Damon was named first team All News Herald.

COLLEGE NOTE:  Freshman Eric Ashton of Malone College was named All-American after an outstanding race in the NAIA National Championship race.
